Pagan Heart

Yes, indeed. It was a great multi-cultural, intra-religious, interracial, bipartisan, multi-familial, multi-generational, multiple-personalitied Christmas/Hannukkah/Kwanzaa/Saturnalia dinner party, much like millions of others going on in big and small households around the world last night with great food, heartfelt prayers, laughter, tears, gossip and good cheer, the evergreens and the menorahs radiating Winter Solstice light with a hint of magic. Ours was a celebration like many others, and yet, it was unlike any others, because it was at the Speakeasy (I’ll get into what I mean by that some other time). Praise the Lord and the Lady.

And now a couple of shameless plugs: I wore my Jesus Loves My Ass panties under my Catholic school green plaid skirt, a Jewish star around my neck, a Christian cross on my hat and my Pagan heart on my sleeve. In keeping with the greene theme, I had a little Absente Absinthe, and the rest is mystery…

No Holiday Sex. It wasn’t that kind of evening. But many other solstice pleasures and good, mindless feelings. I say mindless because as I shared our holiday joy – keeping the talk of sex and politics to a polite bare minimum – I didn’t give a thought to the countless innocents in prisons around the world being tortured for the holiday by the American State of Perma-War. Actually, I probably wouldn’t have thought about them at all, if it weren’t for this blog. See what bloggamy can do to you?

  1. A very feative night doen with good cheer and faith in the most basic. Gaia Mother Earth does us well and as we saw this year can humble us in her wrath as we stumble along. The food was great, thanks Kim and friends a small reminder of youth and such “family” gatherings, sometimes lost in a commercial world that distances itself from feeling and caring. Sure should have brought my camcorder; on the other hand the memories will be there always — something church or state can not tear away Blessings to all, be green!James

  2. A very special, very different night at Doktor Suzy’s Speakeasy. Beautiful Taschen tree. Compliments to the chefs, especially sexy Kim. Caught a glimpse of your “Jesus loves My Ass” panties, doc, and all I can say is I agree with Jesus.
